Fast Kitty was born at a time when the internal combustion engine was the modern marvel of the industrial age powering the new world forward. Fast Kitty’s family came from the wrong side of the tracks and didn’t have the benefit of money, power and education. Her father was a real Tom Cat who liked to spend his days prowling the paddock of the local racetrack looking for excitement. Fast Kitty thought the world of her dad so she would tag along with him most days wandering about the garages and pits studying the mechanics and race drivers with that singular attention only cats possess.
Some of the race crews took a shine to Fast Kitty and began teaching her how to tear down an engine and rebuild it. It wasn’t long before Fast Kitty was the best feline mechanic at the track. Always curious Fast Kitty began hitching rides with willing drivers. She learned the dynamics of driving a state of the art racecar and the finesse it takes to negotiate turns, chicanes and high-speed straights. A pal of hers gave her an old heap of a car that had long past reached its sell date. Elated at the present Fast Kitty spent the next two years restoring, rebuilding and reengineering the old racing machine. When Fast Kitty brought the old car to Indianapolis for its first race it was painted pink and was as shiny as a new toy under a Christmas tree. Not everyone was thrilled to have an intelligent cat with a great kisser running on their racetrack. In that first race she nearly crashed as one of the good ol boys, Slo Dog tried to run her off the track, and threw cans of oil in her path. However, Fast Kitty’s superior intelligence, nerves of steel, and natural racing ability proved too much for Slo Dog and the rest of the field. Fast Kitty won the race by a respectable margin and so began her racing career and the legend of Fast Kitty.
In the years that followed Fast Kitty conquered the worlds of auto racing, motorcycle racing as well as speedboats and aviation. Fast Kitty once remarked, “ If its’ got an engine, I can race it.” Fast Kitty became so famous Hollywood began making cartoons of her racing exploits.
Fast Kitty fans can find her at racetracks and auto shows around the world. Fast Kitty has her own line of clothing and accessories, which can be purchased at the track or online at fastkitty.com
